Hello LaPazions, you know I’m always on the hunt for something hot, new and trendy. It seems like the new brand “Wear Your Label” is right there on the pulse. This is the first conscious clothing line that is creating conversations around mental health and ultimately ending the stigma in (style). This brand is causing a lot of buzz within the industry and media from the Today Show, RAW Magazine, Seventeen Magazine and People to name just a few.

The Founders/Designers are two young fashion forward college graduates that both struggled with their own issues (Kyle MacNevin lives with generalized Anxiety Disorder and Kayley Reed is recovering from Anorexia Nervosa) which are basically labels. Kyle and Kayley wanted to create a brand that would empower, ignite and cause and interaction for those that deal/dealt with such issues-Where they could now speak openly, freely and rock their labels with style and pride.

Allow me to introduce you all the the creative minds that are making this bold change in our society. Please meet Kyle MacNevin and Kayley Reed:Kyle and KayleyKyle and Kayley for me are visionaries that aren’t afraid of making a little noise to make a difference in a hush-hush kind of society. Mental illness is still looked at some sort of taboo or non-spoken issue within todays society. I know for myself prior to learning about this label I didn’t give this really thought and now I feel like this is something that is beautiful and can be such a great opportunity to up-lift and inspire others to reach for their dreams.  The other thing that is so different about this label, is they don’t use high fashion models but; the models they use are real role models that have struggled with issues that have had hardships and want to just be seen as individuals. When you visit the site located at http://www.wearyourlabel.com you can read real stories of individuals that had personal struggles and what the brand and label means to so many.

I want to give you a look at some of the collection:CollectionNot SelfishSad but RadSick Not WeakIn doing my research for this article I was surprised to find out according to the 2014 statistics from the Kim Foundation, that an estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older or about 1-in-4 adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. I can see where the education, awareness and the ability to freely speak about such matters is necessary and; I’m happy to know that Kayley and Kyle are brave enough to take this fashionable stand!
