Email: Hey Sonya,

I feel that I’ve had the same old look for the past 5+ years, and I want to reinvent my look but, not break the bank. Sonya, can you please help? Signed Stuck in a Rut:

Hello Stuck in a Rut and Fabulous LaPazions, funny I get questions like this all the time from other readers and clients. Reinventing your look doesn’t always mean a major weight loss, cutting/coloring your hair or breaking the budget for and entirely new wardrobe. I’m going to give you a few simple steps that will help in reinventing your look so; get ready to take a few notes.

1. Style your hair differently:

Jen Aniston

You may have had the same hairstyle forever. Here is a simple little trick to try: If you wear your hair with a center part try parting your hair on a different side. You can do this just before you go to bed-Why then. This way you can train the hair to stay in place and here is the tip for getting your hair to lay flat: Use a little styling gel and hair tape to keep hair in place while you’re sleeping. Using hair tape will prevent you having that indention in your hair or that line from a head band or wrap. By just changing the direction of your hair, you will add a different symmetry to your face and can reinvent you look totally.

2. Accessorize, Accessorize:

Necklace

Doing this little trick can give a whole new look to your wardrobe. Adding accent pieces or how I like to call them statement pieces which are out of your norm can take your wardrobe from 0-60 in 2.3 seconds and, will make that old standard look brand new. Jewelry is and easy and fast way to give new definition to your look and if you’re not use to wearing big pieces that’s fine add a few small catchy pieces.

3. Change up your makeup:

Clinique Blushing

Ladies did you know that if you make small changes to your makeup you will reinvent your look. Prime example of this, I had a client who ONLY did dramatic looks to her eyes be it day or night that was her look. One afternoon she had a brunch to attend and asked me to give her a different look. I simply just changed up her makeup and instead of giving such a dramatic look to her eyes, I gave her a more natural look and a little pop of pink on her lips and she looked totally different and everyone at her brunch kept asking her what she did different to herself. Little things such as this can change and contour your face in a different way.

4. Nails become Accessories:

Nails too You

I know this sounds like a real reach but, if you only wear French/American manicure just giving your nails a pop of color will add a change to your hands and will make a subtle reinvention to your look. You can even try changing the shape of your nails.

5. Step your shoe game up:

Business Shoes3

Shoes can change a look drastically. How? If you only wear flats 24/7 try putting a kitten heel into your wardrobe. I say a kitten heel because, its not too dramatic and being that your foot isn’t use to being in a heel you would need to start gradual. Ladies who only wear heels/stilettoes  try adding a wedge or kitten heal to give a different definition to your leg and your closet.

6. Rejuvenate your skin:

Rejuvenate Healthy skin can change your look 100%-By simply keeping your skin hydrated(drinking enough water daily)and by exfoliating once a week you can give yourself a healthy glow. I’d like to give you a natural recipe for a good exfoliant:

3-4 Tbs. Cornmeal, 4 Tbs. Honey mix until the mixture is well blended and not too thick because it needs to be a little lose. Apply to face and neck in a circular motion and do not scrub too hard. Rinse with warm water pat face dry and use a good moisturizer to face and neck area.

These are a few simple little tricks to try. I hope you found this handy and if you have any style/Lifestyle questions please feel free to email us at: homeoffice_lapazimageing@yahoo.com

Red Carpet Review From AMA’s

american-music-awards2013-revealed

Good Fabulous Monday LaPazions, I know that many of you was tuned in last night to the American Music Awards that Pitbull hosted. I have to tell you in all honesty I really didn’t care about the show at all because, how is it that they give Rihanna the Icon award? Really is she really reaching that panicle already in her short career; or is it that there really is a lack of honest talent out here to give the Icon award to? What about Patti LaBelle, Mariah Carry or Madonna?

With this being stated I’m not going to get all into the show I’m just going to speak on the red carpet looks, oh and by the way the Icon didn’t even walk the red carpet once again. I guess she’s just getting too big to do that or to grant interviews prior to her being on the show. I have to tell you when I saw Taylor Swift on the carpet rocking this short gold mini, I thought this girl is bringing fire to all the ex’s that she writes songs about and honey, if they are dating someone “Don’t Cha wish your girl was hot like me” in my best Pussycat Dolls voice seemed to roll of my tongue:Taylor SwiftI’m telling you all that Taylor transitioned from the girl next door to a true sexy, yet classy lady. Which by the way if you look at her she still seems good-too-shoe but, she’s dated enough people to fill a good sized handbag. LOL!!

I have to throw some shade on our next celeb who walked the red carpet. Why? Well, she sits on the panel of the Fashion Police, she criticizes the best of the best and; I’m sorry this look that Kelly Osbourne rocked last night was just the worst of the worst. She looked like some short lump on the carpet the dress was the exact same color as her hair, and it did nothing for her. I hope when she does her review she nominates herself for a worst dressed award and her partner in crime Giuliana Rancic. Rancic looked like she needed a meal and that hair on that long face PLEASE!!giuliana-rancickelly-osbourneWow, did you see the Kardashian-Jenner girls? I didn’t recognize them in all honesty, they really have stepped their style game up and Kylie and Kendall where showing they are no longer going to be in the background of their every so famous siblings any longer:kendall-kylie-jennerI’m sorry I’m back on the none fan train of Jennifer Hudson once again. I hated her look last night on the carpet she looked like she stepped on the front of her gown and ripped the dress and they just cut the section and sent her on her marry way. I don’t know she was getting it right for the last couple of red carpet events but, LaPazions she is back with a true miss in my personal opinion:Jennifer Hudson

I loved the Disney Starlet/Dancing with the Stars alum Zendaya Coleman. This white one shoulder pantsuit was fabulous. She looked age, Disney and red carpet appropriate!! I love how she is transitioning from the teen star to and amazing singer/dancer and role model for young women, I hope she stays this way and that she can transition as well as Taylor Swift has:Zandaya ColemanI didn’t know there was and older Cyrus girl other than Miley Cyrus but, her sister Brandi walked the red carpet and it seemed that Miley took a page out of her sisters book and toned her look down for the red carpet and didn’t give us her signature tongue pose(Thank God!):Brandi CyrusMiley CyrusI love how Ke$ha has changed her look up and is embracing her new and more glamorous look. She rocked this asymmetrical dress and gave made attitude on the carpet. I wasn’t impressed with the look for her performance but, honey she knocked this out the park:Ke$haWell Chili and T-Boz was out on the carpet and they had Lil Mama to come on stage as a special guest; as you know she played Left-Eye via the Vh1 special. I didn’t care for any of their looks and the green hair and the touch of green on Lil Mama’s gown was just a bit much. I guess she called herself channeling her inner Left-eye and being a little daring but, it was just a total miss for me:Lil MamaT-Boz and ChiliAnother person I didn’t recognize was Ciara, she really looked so different and I loved her gown the crochet and the nudity was very classy and she looked amazing. Rumors are that she is pregnant with fiancés Futures child but; she really doesn’t look pregnant at all:CiaraJordan Sparks looked elegant and just sparkled in this sleeveless gown! I have to say Jordan, has truly kept her weight off and just is as gorgeous as she was when she appeared on American Idol. She looked happy as ever and we didn’t see her with her romantic love Jason but, we know they are doing very well and just shot a video for his new song “Will You Marry Me?”:Jordan SparksLady Gaga showed up on a horse guided by a few good men. You know she’s the new face of Versace and lord why did she wear the exact, well it looks like the exact gown from the ads? She’s channeling her inner Donatella:Lady GagaVersace Ad

These are just a few looks from the American Music Awards 2013 Red Carpet and it wasn’t very eventful but, neither was the show. To see everyone that walked the red carpet that wasn’t in this post make sure you like our Facebook page located at: http://www.facebook.com/lapazimageing

Top Fashion Mistakes Women Make:

Ugly Betty

Editor-in-Chief: Sonya LaRae

Senior Editor: Leah Leslie

Article by: Sonya LaRae-Certified Image Consultant/Lifestyle Coach

Photographs Provided by: Google.com, LaPaz Image/Event Consultants

Hello Fabulous LaPazions, I know there are so many fashion faux pas that seem to be fashion pluses but, ladies I’m here to discuss a few that are major no-no’s and every woman should be mindful of them. Prime example I like to use is Ugly Betty who seemed to rock the ugliest outfits with the most confidence that you would not believe. I mean yes she owned it but, there are a few things you should NEVER take ownership of such as;

Improper fitting clothing:Improper fittingLadies first things first when you wear clothing that is either too small or just too big, it has no style benefit for you. What do I mean by this? Is if you wear clothing that is too small it makes you look heavier than what you really are and takes away from you total look. The other side of the coin is too big, it makes you look heavier if you are already a curvy woman it adds bulk to your body and no woman wants to look bigger, heavier or having no definition at all.

Recommendation: Go with a blouse that is your size and not pulling or looking as if you take a deep breath you’ll bust out of it. Keep things simple, neat and complimentary to your shape. Do a 360 degree look at yourself and make sure its not grabbing, pulling or not sitting properly on your backside.

Label Junkies:Label Junky OMG! Yes we love our labels but, is there such a thing as overkill? Yes, ladies you DO NOT have to rock MJ from head to toe or any don’t go Marc Jacobs,Michael Kors, YSL and Dior there is no need to over due the name brands. Think go with one high-end piece and then mixing with a few inexpensive pieces to give that one major label the pop it deserves.

Full-Exposure:Showing too MuchLadies, ladies do yourself a favor and put this note in your memory bank “Less is More!” Meaning please leave something’s to the imagination of others, you don’t have to put all your good out like there is a yard sale or you have no modesty in your book. I do feel there is a time and a place for everything but, coming out into public with everything hanging out isn’t the time and not even on the “Red Carpet” should your breast be the first and the last thing people are speaking about.

Bottom Logos:Not sexyI really don’t know how, when or where this became something fashionable. The first time we saw this was via Victoria Secret and it was no secret that they wanted to draw attention to your rear-end. Then next thing we saw Juicy Couture who had the nerve to sprawl JUICY across women’s backsides and call it fashion. There is nothing fashionable, sexy nor classy with this trend-The other issue I have is if your bottom looks more like and oversized billboard I don’t think that is too flattering to you as a woman.

Fake-in-Bake:Fake and BakeWe all love that healthy glow, that sun-kissed look but; there is a point when too much is just too much. Step away from the tanning bed, the spray tan or self-tanner if and when you star taking on the appearance of and orange or burnt toast. There is definitely a fine line between tan and over tanning, if you’re going everyday two to three times a day you’re overboard and addicted to tanning.

Move Forward:stuck in the pastMany of you may have loved the 80’s and the 90’s but, did you get the memo that this is 2013 and just a short trip to becoming 2014? Ladies, do yourself and those that love you a favor and burn those ugly jeans that have no place in your wardrobe and don’t say everything is relevant to style. This is a lie you are telling yourself to give yourself permission to stay out dated and a true fashion mistake. Change can be hard so here is my tip for this, try to replace at least one thing in your wardrobe a week. Meaning bring something new into your wardrobe and get ride of one thing, up-dating isn’t something painful if you do it the right way.

Black-out Moment:Smokey eye extremThe Smokey-eye isn’t for everyone. Once again The Smokey-Eye IS NOT For Everyone!! You need to remember that you don’t want to go raccoon, the night of the dead. It’s just not that hot to look like you’ve forgotten how to wash your face and just kept on reapplying makeup on top of makeup. You want it to look natural and sexy, and keep in mind that if it doesn’t look right when you do it the first time wash it off and try it again, and think about visiting a local cosmetic counter and ask them to teach you the right way to duplicate a look that you may love.

Under-gate:Thong GateI hate this one with a passion and I think that more and more women are moving further and further away from this tacky and classless trend. Ladies, if you have low rise jeans on you need to purchase undergarments that are made for these types of jeans and please don’t think commando is acceptable either.

These are a few of our fashion mistakes that we wanted to cover with you but, trust me we could keep going due to the fact we see so many and deal with so many fashion mistakes.

Is Commando Appropriate for Red Carpet:

Red Carpet

Editor-in-Chief: Sonya LaRae

Photo Provided by: Google.com

Hello Fabulous LaPazions, I guess I may be just a little old fashion when it comes to under-garments and the red carpet. I mean we’ve seen some major celebs who have given a peep show when they got out of the car for the red carpet due to the lack of underwear some examples that come to mind Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Anna Hathaway, Eva Longoria:Anne Hathawayeva-longoria Well last night at the Thor move preview Actress Jaimie Alexander hit the red carpet in a barely there black sheer gown that left nothing to the imagination and it made me think is this just too much?Jaimie AlexanderI have to say this gown did nothing for her figure and it made her look a little out of shape needing to really concentrate on doing a few deep knee crunches to lift her but and give it shape. I’m starting to look at these celebs that are desperate for attention in anyway they can get it; be it positive or negative.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas regarding this. Do you feel that celebrities are taking this trend a little to far?
