NYFW: Vera Wang Only Bridal?

LaPazions, I must be totally honest with you all; I’m only here at Vera Wang because, my niece is a huge fan of this Designer and because she is fighting to beat Leukemia. I thought I’d cover this show exclusively for Elly (Please click on her picture to donate and support us in helping to find a cure for blood cancer and Leukemia):As I sit here getting ready to see what is going to be presented, I am a little worried and nerves because, the last 4 seasons haven’t been that great, so I am hoping this season will usher in a new and vibrant Vera Wang. The first look comes onto the runway and my heart slightly sinks into my feet.. I’m really not sure what direction or feel Vera is going with but, I can honestly say its definitely not what I was hoping to see:

I am praying this isn’t what the full collection looks like. I love the shoes that are being featured on the models with the collection but, I don’t really feel they match or feel right with each piece that comes onto the runway.. With that being stated, I’d love to have a pair in my collection though:

Thank goodness a few really cute pieces came out and I thought seriously Vera Wang’s ready-to-wear just isn’t that ready to wear.. I’d love to see her put more definition and cohesion into the collection and give us some color (technically she gave us a bang of orange). I’d like to see something that looks more like what we’ve come to know and love with Vera Wang bridal for the ready-to-wear:

Happy fabulous fashion week LaPazions, I am so excited sitting here with our Editor-in-Chief, Sonya LaRae getting ready to take in one of my favorite Designers. I feel the adrenaline rushing through my vein's like a child who has had one too many pieces of chocolate..

It’s show-time the lights dim and the music comes up and the first look is out on the runway and I’m like this is really pretty and very feminine, which I’m loving and I look over at Sonya LaRae and she is like on the edge of her seat taking in every element of the garments coming down the runway.. I love that they are giving reference to more of a 50’s style and fabrics. I am going to give you a little tease of what we’re seeing:I love the clean lines of the 50’s and Badley Mischka captured it but, brought it forward to be very modern, which gave air to a true feel of what women today would love to wear and look like. Something else that made this collection pop-was how they kept the hair and makeup simple with a bold lips; much like women in my mom’s era would rock. I could see myself wearing several pieces from this collection that celebrates everything about being a woman and understanding the contouring of the female form (body-shape):Per the Designers they are giving us a visual and feeling of Buenos Aires 1950’s- Raw elegance and luxury was in that time and women dressed for dinner, cocktails or brunches. I’m totally in love with every look that has been presented from the delicate eyelet, lace, beading, sequence, floral and taffeta very amazing:Enter the text that you want to check for grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes; then click the grey button below.I truly loved being in attendance for todays runway show and Sonya LaRae said it best “Absolutely Stunning and beyond Breathtaking!” Congratulations for such a fabulous season I take my hat off and applaud Mark Badley and James Mischka.

Happy fashion week LaPazions, I’m really excited sitting here at the Betsey Johnson runway show because, this is a major day. It’s not only the anniversary of 9/11; it’s also Betsey’s anniversary of 50 years in the industry.  50 years, I mean seriously this woman has become a staple to so many and her creativity just keeps bubbling forth.

When I attend a Betsey Johnson runway show; there is so much positive energy and great flowing movement, laughter and a spirit of lightheartedness to the room. I see many of the cast members of Orange is the New Black front and center and; I also heard that this show is dedicated to Betsey’s dance teacher/Choreographer who brought her to New York-you just have to love Ms. Johnson!!

Here is a look into the creative mind of Betsey Johnson and what she presented:

LaPazions, as I sat looking at the collection coming down the runway, there is a piece of me that wants to look and wear this… I mean my personal style is more like Designer Carolina Herrera but, deep inside there is definitely a very fun, free spirited and out right rebel that sometimes comes out and shows her face; and this is EVERYTHING that Betsey Johnson stands for.

She gave us a decade of fashion to celebrate her 50 years in the industry. This runway show was very well thought out and planned because, we started with the present which was kind of an ode to Nicki Minaj, when she was on the outrageous side of fashion, then the 90’s grunge era, 80’s all about hard rock and jumpsuits, the 60’s which gave very wearable content then to the 50’s. I love the whimsy and out right abandonment that Betsey brings to the close of every show-Her signature cartwheel and split get’s better with time:LaPazions, I cannot wait to hear your feedback and tell us your thoughts on this seasons looks from fashion week.

NYFW: Royalty Showed in NY-Givenchy Spring 2016

Pause LaPazions, take a very deep breath because not only has New York fashionistas been treated to breathtaking extravagance but, now you will be as well!

I speaking none other than the Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear Givenchy collections.. I know you just yelled for joy as much as I did once I got there to witness the first time that Givenchy has shown in NYC!! When it was announced during the finale showing in Paris that, the iconic brand would be coming state side-Let’s just say bells went off in our offices.

I mean the star power was in high demand and in full-support for tonight’s gala or all galas.  The front row read like the whose-who of entertainers, A-listers, top  Designers, Editors-in-Chiefs to socialites- I didn’t know who to look at or take a picture of or just to say well at least I’ve seen them. Carrie Underwood, Kanye and Kim Kardashian-West, Jennifer Hudson, Steven Tyler and his daughter Liv Tyler, Uma Thurman, Debby Harry, Jennifer Hudson, Designer Tory Burch plus many more (Later on I’ll give a pictures of the front row)…

This collection was like the good and bad side of Riccardo Tisci’s mind. I loved how feminine the collection felt yet, it gave you that air of luxury, sex appeal, mystique and allure. The eyelet and lace was gorgeous, sheer romantic fantasy and then the fellas gave the collection another edge and life (can you tell how excited I am over this collection)! I must give you your first look at Givenchy Spring 2016:I know beautiful airy and just breathtaking right!?

LaPazions, Kendall Jenner slayed the runway-Honey she it truly a model and looked stunning even though they bleached all the models eyebrows to look like they had none.  I did find this look a little harsh and odd but, it’s art and taking you to another level mentally to deliver his vision (not sure why they couldn’t have eyebrows but, hey):

That walk was giving life to this runway and her look was intense-I really loved seeing Kendall in her real element. Like I told you this event was about the whose-who but, just seated behind everyone was fortunate fashion lovers that was selected to attend the event and they got more than they truly bargained for.
