Tis the Season to be Blinging and Fabulous!

Bling I guarantee you wasn’t thinking of anything like this, when we stated “Tis the Season to be Blinging and Fabulous!” This may be just a bit over the top for some of you but think about it. From this point to the beginning of the year you’re going to be receiving truck loads of invitations, to some of the most fabulous and amazing parties and events!  Be it from your own private parties, the most outrageous party that your best friends give, the ever so modern and sleek cocktail-party or the Magnificent Winter Ball that the office throws every year we have you covered!  One question is going to be on your mind “What should I wear?” Get ready to raise your glasses high and to bring in another wonderful time looking ever so Fabulous, Classy or Whimsical you name it and we thought it!!

1st party: The ever so Fabulous Cocktail party which you know its going to be wonderful!  We thought we would give you a little bling to step out in and don’t worry if you have curves we are going to celebrate them right along with you!  Sequins is a girls best friend and it can always be played up or down.  This little number really says that you are ready to trip the night fantastic and it looks good on most body-types.  Its flirty and playful and it can be matched with a great little clutch or a handbag that adds that pop of color!

2nd party: Maybe you have to work and don’t have time to go home and change. Oh poor you what is a girl suppose to do? Here’s a idea that we came across.  Why not have that ever so perfect dress paired with a great little cardigan or boyfriend jacket and a kitten heel for work, but when the clock strikes 5 grab your perfect little tote which can be stashed at your office for the next day. Place in your tote-bag a pair of sheer stockings, fabulous pair of stilettos, hot little clutch some lovely drop diamond earrings and your off and running for a wonderful night out of dancing and celebrating!!

3rd party: Your boyfriend/husband or significant other, has invited you to attend their companies party and you want to make a good impression on their co-workers/Boss.  Fellas you also want to look great on your ladies arm for this event because this is the statement of statements! You was also told that its not formal but it is dress to impress; well for our gentlemen, we have a few looks we think you will like to rock and for our ladies we know you will look good in these ideas that we have!  We thought maybe you would like to go a little old Hollywood with a pop of color or do a little faux fur jacket with a lovely little dress and sexy shoes!  Guy’s you take a note: old Hollywood works and everyone is attracted to a man in a good suit! Which ever you choose we know you will make a wonderful impression and give a statement to all those who are looking on.

P.S. if you’re the kind of girl who always wears your hair down try doing a little something different.  Do a very sexy and sleek up-do with a little flirty swooping bang.  Give the mystery to your eyes by doing a Smokey-eye and natural lips!  As they all say the eyes are the window to the soul and why not let it be shrouded in mystique (HOT).

4th party: Its the Formal Affair of Affairs! The who’s-who is going to be attending and you don’t want to disappoint your adoring hostess or host!  They have sent you an invitation to die for you know this is going to be something that everyone is going to be talking about for years to come! We thought you may want to go with something that is different and has the elegance and class that takes the breath of those who are in awe of you.  If you have beautiful long legs and want to show them just remember a little goes a long way.  Maybe you have a lovely toned back; let that be your signature and keep things simplistic, you don’t want a plunging neckline and back. If you have love décolletage (cleavage) make sure it isn’t to the point of being offensive or vulgar.  You always want to leave something for the imagination.

Last but surely not least its time to bring in the New Year! You are ready to dance, drink and celebrate with your friends, loved one or whomever, and you want to look GOURGEOUS doing it! Ladies don’t be scared of going short and sexy because this is all about having fun letting go and making new!  We choose a few looks from sexy, whimsical to flirty whatever you decide we know it won’t be wrong! if it is going to be cool out make sure your bring along a cute little bolero style jacket it will give that little something to your outfit!

We hope that all of you have enjoyed this article, and we know each and everyone of you, will be Fashionable, Fabulous, Flirty and ever so classy in whatever you are wearing!  We hope that you all have a health and safe festive time of the year and we look forward to the New Year 2011!! Woohoo!!

Hot Fashion Trend for our Gentlemen

I know fellas you thought we forgot all about you guy’s. Never that we love you to much to forget about you all!  We saw a few hot trends this past season that we was hoping would reappear for this season and we are just so happy the one did. Which one is that you’re saying?  The HAT!!  This really got our full vote and we noticed that at the end of last season, that a lot of our gentlemen had taken notice of the hot R&B singer/producer/songwriter NeYo’s look, and started to sport the great Newsboy Fedora and we have to say he really put’s his own sexy style to this look!

NeYo, came out in such a major way with his album “Year of the Gentlemen” and he did just that he gave the okay back to men to be gentlemen.  If you think back to like the 40’s and 50’s men always had their lovely fedora’s on and just paired them with the right accessories or trench coat.  That made us start to think about others that have brought this look into the 21st century and have given it just that edge that all of our guy’s can rock. If you are more conservative, preppy or street there is a look just for you.  I was thinking that two fabulous actors that have very different styles are Brad Pitt and Ashton Kutcher.  Both of these guy’s have worn the Newsboy caps and they both give off two very different feels.

When you see a guy wearing a hat sometime it gives just that little something to his outfit and also that edge that pushes him from hum-drum to more of a sexy image.  Even when a woman wears a hat it has some mystery to her, its just the same with a man.  How long did people want to know what LL Cool J looked like without a hat?  Every woman on the plant wanted to know if he was bald or did he have an odd shaped head it was something mad sexy about him and it still works for him!

Now that is a man who knows how to wear a hat! Wow! Anyway, we started think of other well known gentlemen that rock fedora’s and do it with such ease. This next gentlemen coined the phrase that he was bringing “sexy” back and it’s none other than Justin Timberlake (JT).  He has such a great sense of style and being that he has his own clothing line he really knows how to pair this look up. JT can give you the “hat” sexy or when he is rocking more of a casual preppy look which ever he decides to wear he always wears it well!

Now we think of the bad boys how would they rock this look? Most don’t realize that they have a whole other way of rocking this sexy but very stylish trend.  We thought about this and the gentlemen that came to mind had to be Eminem! He had the best way of wearing his Kangol and yes we said Kangol, there is nothing old or my father use to rock this at all.  Eminem brought the fresh style of this fedora company when he made his first appearance after being gone for so long at the MTV Music Awards! Eminem always rocks something very fashion forward be it his hair, clothing or now his hats!

Something very important that we want all of you gentlemen to be mindful of is, knowing your face shape and the size of your head when you’re selecting your hat.  Always make sure you purchase the correct size because you don’t want your hat to be too small or too big for your head.  You want to make sure that this perfect accessory is just that perfect

With that being stated we thought it was important to go over the 4 basic face shapes and what hats compliment each shape:

Round shaped face: To keep your head from looking like a perfect sphere, go for something asymmetrical with a high crown. Try slanting your hats forward and going for neat, clean styles to give your face more angles. That way people won't be tempted to use your head as a crystal ball. You don’t want to make yourself look like a basketball so this hat pictured here would be great for a gentlemen who has a fuller face and plump cheeks.

Oval shaped face: You oval face gents look good in almost any hat. Just make sure to pull the hat correctly over your forehead and tilt it on different sides. I don't have many tips for the oval faces because they can pull of so many great hats that it makes all jealous over their perfectly shaped faces.

Square Shaped Face: Go for a hat that has a wider brim… Go wide or go home is the best thing we can tell you.  You don’t want something with a stingy brim because it is going to make your face seem wider than it really is. Think of Brad Pitt because he has a square shaped face and always rocks a great wide brimmed hat

Long shaped face: You need sharp, clean styles more like Justin Timberlake. Wear it straight and forward to cut the length of your face.  Also, you should wear a wide brims with low crowns, hats that cover your forehead will also look sleek, stylish and mysterious.

We really enjoyed bringing this article to our gentlemen and we always want to make sure you gentlemen know what is in style and how to rock the look of the season.  Stay close guy’s cause we have more to come!

Fall/Winter Coat Trends, Don’t Be Left Out in the Cold!

The crisp cool air is making a major comeback but, does it mean that you have to forego style and fashion? Absolutely not! The trends for the Fall/Winter Coats are just as hot as the clothing this season.  We see the Wrap coat, Military jackets/coats and the Down filled Parkas are very hot.  The big comeback is the Camel colored Wrap Coat, which you know back in 1970’s Bill Blast had a gorgeous Wool coat with Long wrap belt which was to die for! We see so many Designers now taking a hint from this classic and sophisticated look.

blasswrapbelt

In researching this topic we saw 6 coats that caught our eye and we thought “hey why not see if we can find these high-end coats at a Fashionistas budget?”  These are the 6 coats that we really thought was hot for this Fall/Winter season:

Coats 2010

1. Dolce & Gabbana Women’s Coat Price: $1,250.00

2. Quilted Puffer by Baby Phat Price: $89.00

3. Obey’s  The Dunaway Jacket Price: $86.00

5. Marin Trench Coat-Couture Candy Price: $205.00

6. 3/4 Length Belted Wool Coat with Large Boatneck Collar Price $365.00

We had one of our Stylist do a little research regarding this matter an she checkout a few well known sites to see what we could offer those Fashonistas on a budget.  Our Stylist said the best site that offered good quality and style had to be Burlington Coat Factory.  In searching the site she was able to find some well known Designers at great prices and the styles colors and looks was right on the money!

1. Woolen Military Peacoat by Laundry Price: $59.00

2. Quilted Puffer Jacket with Pillow Collar Price: $39.99 (variety of colors)

3. Full-length Trench Coat by London Fog Price: $59.99

4. Belted Wool Wrap Coat by Anne Klien Price: $69.99

5. Soft Belted Ruffle Coat by Steve Madden Price: $59.99

Couture Fashion Week, Takes Center Stage Continues!

Saturday, 11 September

Waldorf-Astoria, Grand Ballroom

6:00PM Show

Okay now we are all coming back to the Ballroom and trying to just recollect ourselves after such a mind blowing opening such as what we experienced.  I’m thinking to myself “Wow I hope whomever is showing next can really just follow that great presentation.”  Music starts to play and another singer comes center stage wearing this beautiful Green Gown with such exquisite detail work. The singer is Lara Janine who really gave such an outstanding performance (no lip-singing here) an sounded great! Lara Janine was wearing a Andres Aquino gown.

The tone is set and then we hear like someone taking a Deep breath and then quite sounds that brought us back to Africa again and we were poised and ready.  Then all of a sudden the Designers name comes up on the huge LCD Screen

You could feel the rush of excitement in the audience and in the ballroom, just anticipating when the models would start taking the runway and then the show began,  it gave us a feeling of Tribal meets the Phantom of the Oprah Couture style!  Looking at the collection you could feel the Designers influences of her Nigerian culture with the ornate patterns and fabrics the detailing on the gowns, the way in which Zizi took the structure off the edges was just wonderful.  We did notice a lot of details on the hips of the garments and thought wow most people try to take away from this area but Zizi Cardows’ brought it right in your face.  I guess your anticipating what this designers collection looks like.  We won’t keep you waiting any longer Zizi Cardow Nigerian influenced breath of Life.

This collection was very different for me, but yet some sort of unspoken beauty like it was a secret.    Zizi Cardow

I’m ready to see the next Designers collection and we have a small pause and the next show begins!

When Did Philadelphia become a Contender for Fashion Week!

We had the great pleasure of attending the Second Annual Philadelphia Fashion Week, and we have to say it was much different from any other Fashion Weeks that we have attended.  It started off from where Philadelphia Fashion Week was going to be held which was at the 23rd Street Armory the building is such an incredible landmark it made us think of medieval times from the outside.
Then once we stepped inside it gave you a feeling of maybe a warehouse so different from  Bryant Park, The Lincoln Center or for the Couture Fashion Week the Waldorf-Astoria.  I knew right then and there we were going to experience something very different and somewhat refreshing. Once inside there were booths set-up for vendors and in the middle of the floor was a bar, then just past that was like an area where it could have been a backstage there was the runway and seating and then elevated above was the VIP area and performance stage.  The venue was a little dark and had somewhat of a heavy feeling to it but I guess it also gave way to a little mystery of what we where about to be part of.
Philadelphia Fashion Week was presented by CMK Entertainment which is an Events Coordination Company and is owned and operated by Kristie Bergey, Charlie Smith and Michael Anderer.  The company was established in 2008 and is based in Philadelphia and New York. They also partnered up with Meredith Lindemon (Publicist) of Meredith Communications which we had the pleasure of speaking with just prior to PFW.

Philadelphia Fashion Week also had some great sponsors and vendors that where also at the event and had booths set-up some of the Sponsors where: VitaminWater Zero, I Magazine, Q102, Verde just to mention a few (to see full-list of sponsors visit www.philadelphiafashionweek.org/sponsors.php) All Models where provided by Wilhelmina of Philadelphia.
Stay close Philadelphia Fashion Week is about to start and we are going to bring you full-access to some of the hottest Designers present by CMK Entertainment!

Philadelphia Fashion Week Vendor Spotlight!

GEDC2067 We are back for the last day of the Second Annual Philadelphia Fashion Week and we are really excited to see what is going to be presented to us!  I have really enjoyed the Designers the music and the talent that has been offered to us.  I wanted to take this moment just to highlight a few vendors that we had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with.  We met Independent Consultant Pat Marin of Traci Lynn Fabulous Jewelry. The collection that she had on display was so beautiful and it looked rather pricey but really it was price friendly. To learn more about Traci Lynn Fabulous Jewelry visit www.tracilynnjewelry.net/patmarin we think you are going to love the collection.

We also met Seun Olubodun Founder of Duke Winston and we also had the pleasure of meeting Duke his beautiful Bulldog who is the face of the collection.  Seun is offering high end T-shirts and much more. You can see more of the collection by visiting www.duke-winston.com. We have to tell you that Duke really stole the show and the hearts of all that where in attendance of Philadelphia Fashion Week!

From there we stepped down a few booths and met Sylvia Echavarria President of SFI Accessories and her associate Camila Echavarria who is the Director of Marketing and Sales.  Let me just tell you they have the most Fabulous and unique jewelry to offer for those of us who want a real statement piece and aren’t afraid of things that will bring much attention to yourself.  I’m truly in love with their collection and hope that you all will love it as much as we did.  To learn more and to purchase any of the pieces please visit www.SFIaccessories.com.

Then I look across the room and I see this pocketbook to just die for! I have to tell you I must be in touch with this Designer because not only are his bags just beautiful they are eco-friendly.  I was so pleased to meet Patrick Michael of Patrick Michael Accessories.  To learn more about Patrick Michael Accessories visit www.patrickmichaelaccessories.com

We didn’t get to see this particular Designer on Wednesday but, we got to see his clothing up close and to learn the philosophy behind the clothing.  Ban Thor Phan isn’t just designing clothing for the sole purpose of just designing beautiful clothes, he and his wife are doing this to bring awareness and to support a true cause.  They are supporting and Orphanage by funding it solely through the clothing line they both where in a Orphanage in Thailand and they have established themselves as a voice in the Fashion Industry and are now bringing awareness to all of us who love fashion.  The collection is beautiful and has an unspoken soul of trueness, purity and passion. Visit www.banthorphan.com to see the full collection and to learn more about what they offer.

Then we met Christopher Boggs President of Christopher Salvatore Group.  Christopher is the man of the hour he made sure that the event was catered and they offered some really wonderful dishes and set-up.  In speaking with several of the guest of Philadelphia Fashion week and asking them what they thought of the event they all kept mentioning the horsd’oeuvres so we thought it would only be right to bring you Christopher Boggs.  To learn more about Christopher Salvatore Group visit www.christophersalvatore.com

Okay stick around with Lapazimageing Fashion Forward because the runway shows are about to start in the next 60 min.

Fashion Week Rocks Philadelphia (part 1)

Okay so we are back live at the Second Annual Philadelphia Fashion Week and we are starting to see the fashionistas and fashionistos walk in and start taking their seats.  We are being entertained by DJ Adrian Hardy who is letting the beat hit us and it seems almost like we are at a club!  We look around and we notice that two Beauty Queens are also in the audience Ms. Pennsylvania and Ms. Delaware we got to meet the head Makeup Artist of the event Wendi Hetherington of Neverland Glamour and she looks just like the name a pixie. We knew from this point on we where going to be in for a treat!

We are signaled that the show is going to start in 60 seconds and The Yarn Groups logo comes up on the LCD Screen:

I’m very excited to see what is going to be presented because as you all are aware we just did the hot article on Crochet Frenzy so we wanted to see what this particular designer is going to offer all of us.  The lights slightly dim and out comes the first look its a blue sweater jacket and I thought to myself right then and there I hope it gets better than this and let me just tell you it did and they didn’t disappoint us one bit with this collection.  It was rather innovative and offered a wide variety of looks, we hope you enjoy the collection as much as we did.

That was a great way to start this event off with I mean it was really fresh and this Designer knew just how to keep climaxing with this collection.  I am amped up and ready to see more but we have a slight pause again and the DJ is still turning out the beats.. The energy is high in the venue and you could see those in the Fashion Industry buzzing over what they just saw and those in the audience.  We are signaled again and in 60 seconds we will be seeing “A Different Fur’s” Collection, I’m looking forward to seeing what they will offer because this is a men’s line they are show for SS 2011/2012.

We are poised and ready and the first look to hit the runway and I have to say I’m liking this look for guy’s its very masculine and only thing I thought could have been different is the paints where a little to tight for the guys.  I noticed that again this season the skinny legged paints was very hot and some where rather tight where they looked a little uncomfortable but all and all it was a good look. Oh my FAVORITE look was the white hooded sweater with the jacket such a hot look!  You be the judge and see what you think of “A different Fur”!

I’m liking the direction in which PFW is taking us and giving a different element to style to the Philly style if I may say so! I noticed that each time that one of the shows ended the Designer didn’t come out with their collection maybe they weren’t available to present but I thought that to be odd.  We are waiting for the next show and there a major pauses between the collections which I guess gave you time to run to the ladies room or grab a drink.  This is a good time to let you all know that we didn’t get to cover all 4 days due to our Reporter taking ill but we did get to cover Friday and Saturday shows.  We are signaled again and told the show will begin in 60 seconds and on the LCD Screen appeared the next Designers logo Alecia Zameska which we found interesting that her collection was being presented by JoMar which boast that it is Philly’s #1 Fabric Store so we really wanted to see what was going to be presented.

The lights dim and the first look at Alecia Zameska’s collection appears and I have to tell you it is truly just amazing and ultra feminine and has kind of an unspoken sex appeal to it. The fabrics are very natural in collar an then she had splashes of color and flowing fabrics as well I really didn’t expect this. Alecia Zameska’s collection gave you romance and somewhat of a flirty feeling and I think she presented this collection in such a way that was more of an unspoken strength and definition!

I’m thinking well PFW isn’t exactly what we are use to but thus far the Designers have been very good.  We are again having a pause for the next collection to be presented and we are entertained by the DJ again which by the way is really just very good but they needed to turn the volume down just slightly because you couldn’t even speak to the person on the side of you without yelling at them.  We are signaled that in 60 seconds we will see “WESC” which stands for “We are the Superlative Conspiracy” I really hope they live up to such a great name!

I’m ready to see what they are going to present and then the first look comes out and I cannot begin to tell you how my heart just sank.. It is a leotard with tights and leg warmer (this cannot be for real)! Then the next look hits the runway and I have to say its better but still not so much feeling that Superlative feeling as of yet you be the judge.

I think this collection is great for the everyday person who is just hanging in the city with friends or just chilling out at the mall.  We are told that we are going to a slight intermission and going to be entertained by Jessi TeiCh.  I have to say this performer had such a nice sound and tone in her voice and she played the piano and really gave and excellent performance and it was live no lip singing.

Great performance and they signal that in 60 seconds we will see “StrangeFruit”. I’m thinking to myself right now is this name true to its self or are we going to be shocked by the collection.  The LCD screen comes on with the logo for StrangeFruit

I have to say the name fit the collection well because it had like a strange vibe to the collection the opening look was like a tube dress with a parachute feeling to it and then the 50’s kind of hat and then from the odd miss shaped paints and the tops that maybe you should have your arms in the sleeves but they are hanging at your side.  I’m not so sure this was one collection that I overly liked but that is why fashion is suggestive to all and interpreted in different ways and speaks to all of us differently. We like to present Strangefruit’s collection!

There is no pause between this Designer and our next Designers show it is “Pamela Ptak” and her logo appears and then so quiet and delicate the model comes onto the runway wearing a bright yellow dress that is just breathtaking and beautiful!

This designer was celebrating the woman and the look of color and feels of fabric that she selected for this collection was just wonderful.  You could see on the faces of the audience how much they loved this collection and the applause was just thunderous!

The last collection is about to take to the runway and it is going to be by FARAH. I have to say that when I say the collection I thought of kind of preppy and rather retro when I saw the collection you tell me what you think!

I must say that the Second Annual Philadelphia Fashion Week really surprised us and that we really enjoyed the collections that where presented and we are looking forward to tomorrow. Before we left for the evening that presented this beautiful aerial performance and I have to tell you they where just breathtaking and amazing and so elegant.  I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!
